Marshall SE: The Artist Turning Pain, Memory, and Energy Into Musicc

Not every artist begins their story by picking up a drum set at just 8 years old. But for Marshall SE, music was more than just a hobby—it was destiny. Born in Suffolk, Virginia in 2004, he grew up surrounded by rhythm, creativity, and an inner pull toward sound. By middle school, he was deep into FL Studio, experimenting with beats and drawing inspiration from SoundCloud’s underground wave. That spark would grow into a fire that’s burning brighter every year.
Dropping Out, Stepping Up
Marshall’s turning point came at 17 years old when he left high school to dedicate himself fully to music. It didn’t take long before people began buying his songs, validating the belief that he had something special. By 2018, while living in Burlington, Vermont, he was building not just tracks but also a vision for his career.
He first called himself Self Enemy, a name that reflected the darker side of his themes. Later, he transformed into Marshall SE, signaling a new chapter of growth. That evolution wasn’t just about a name—it was about creating an identity powerful enough to carry not just his music but also an entire movement.
The Music of Memories
Marshall SE’s catalog reflects different stages of his life. His album Until the Stars Realign was more than just a tracklist—it was a collection of memories, emotions, and energy that showcased his growth. “Being a young artist is cool because having different albums is like pulling out different memories,” he explains.
Now, he’s preparing to release Godspeed on October 14, 2025. The album promises to take his signature experimental aggression and elevate it with new stories, sounds, and emotional depth. Fans already see Godspeed as a career-defining project.
Collaboration and Community
One of the reasons Marshall SE has gained so much respect is his willingness to collaborate with a wide range of artists. His credits include work with GothBoyClique, North Ave Jax, Devon Golder, Nimbus Nine, Mighty X Mouse Music, 444CLVN, and Young Cetti, among many others. These collaborations don’t just show versatility—they highlight his ability to stay connected with the underground community while pushing forward creatively.
More Than Just an Artist
Marshall’s creativity doesn’t end with music. He’s also the founder of Self Enemy Records (SE Collective), an independent label that reflects his commitment to supporting originality in the industry. Alongside that, he runs Posse XIV, a clothing brand that’s preparing for new merch drops and chains later this year. Fans can also look forward to the Posse XIV Tour, bringing his energy to stages across the country.
Image and Impact
With bold blackout tattoos covering his arms and haunting words like “Paimon” and “Ripper” across his face, Marshall SE’s appearance is as striking as his music. He represents the unapologetic, aggressive spirit that defines his genre. His recent performance at the Green State Tattoo Convention reinforced his stage presence, proving that he’s as powerful live as he is in the studio.
Looking Forward
At just 21 years old, Marshall SE has already built a discography, a label, a fashion brand, and a loyal fan base. With Godspeed arriving this October, he is ready to solidify his place as one of hip-hop’s most fearless young voices. For him, every song is a piece of memory, every album a new chapter, and every fan a part of the movement.
